Family First Case Advocate

The Family First program provides a springboard for teen mothers to be successful by helping them finish high school, avoid having a second child as a teen, and develop concrete goals and plans for their futures. Through weekly support groups, teen mothers receive professional guidance and develop trusting, supportive relationships with their peers, which together inspire and empower them to reach their potential. The mission of Family First is to transform the lives of teen mothers and their children by helping them become educated, self-sufficient, valued members of society.

School Counselor

Harmony At Home hires for our Sticks & Stones Program throughout the year.

Sticks & Stones is a school based counseling program for children who have been impacted by trauma and are displaying behaviors that affect their school and/or home environments.  We offer school placements in Salinas and South Monterey County, working with students of all grade levels.

The Sticks & Stones program hires counselors with a background in psychology, social work, and counseling.  We offer internships for master’s level students and post master’s students who are registered with the BBS and collecting hours towards licensure. We pay a competitive rate for those that are gaining hours towards their professional license. We also hire Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists, Licensed Clinical Social Workers, and Licensed Professional Clinical Counselors. Clinical Supervision and Trainings are provided throughout the school year. (See below for more details)

If you are interested in a counseling position with Sticks & Stones, please contact Lorena Rodriguez at lorena@harmony-at-home.org

Clinical Supervision for Counselors

We offer clinical Supervision to our Trainees, Interns and Associates. Our Clinical Supervisors are experienced and well trained in working with children that have experienced trauma. We offer as much Clinical Supervision that each Therapist in Training needs to count their hours toward licensure. We do not charge our Interns, Trainees and Associates for this service.

Training

At the beginning of each school year, prior to each placement, we offer a 5-day in-service orientation retreat to our counseling & coaching staff. They learn the “nuts and bolts” of their program, HR policies and procedures, and training on topics relevant to the work we are doing in the schools.  We also offer trainings on relevant topics throughout the school year.  Some examples of past trainings are bullying prevention, art therapy, attachment, cultural competency, grief & loss, homelessness, LGBT+ competency, and domestic violence. These trainings are free to all Harmony At Home staff.
