Dan Siegel: Mindsight, Mindfulness, Integration and the Brain

Dr. Dan Siegel is a clinical professor of psychiatry at the UCLA School of Medicine, the founding co-director of the Mindful Awareness Research Center at UCLA, and the Executive Director of the Mindsight Institute. Mindsight Institute is an educational organization which offers online learning and in-person seminars that focus on how the development of mindsight in individuals, families and communities can be enhanced by examining the interface of human relationships and basic biological processes.

I was introduced to one of his videos that explained the upstairs and downstairs brain and the term “blowing their top” or “flipping your lid”. I have found Dr. Dan Siegel’s work to be very interesting, easy to understand, and most of all incredibly useful in many aspects of my life.
